I can’t believe it has been 1 year since Patrick was born! I know everyone says this, but time just goes too fast! We have had such a fun year with Patrick, and have enjoyed every minute of our parenting journey so far.
So being the self-proclaimed Pinterest mom that I am (Not sure what I’m talking about? Check out this awesome post from Tiny Rotten Peanuts.), I wanted to go all in for Patrick’s 1st Birthday party. Over-the-top theme parties have kind of been my thing since college…and that was Pre-Pinterest. A few months before his birthday I started browsing Pinterest to find some fun themed birthday party ideas.

I found lots of fun ideas, and I chose to do a zoo theme! I had just finished Patrick’s zoo themed playroom, so I was already in zoo-mode, plus Patrick loves animals. I promptly put together a Pinterest board to collect ideas for the party. You can check out the board to see where some of my inspiration came from.

Here is how it all came together! We had a GREAT time!
Our awesome friend Jackie over at The Ludwig Shop designed these amazing invitations for us!
I made this fun #1 collage out of pictures of Patrick from the past year. It was so fun going through and picking out pictures to use, but hard to narrow down what made the cut! (I have a picture obsession)
Our friend Jennie, also totally AWESOME, over at Go Brand Yourself designed these totally fun and easy to use printables to go along with our theme!
My sister helped me put together this banner with all of Patrick’s monthly pictures.
I was so proud that I made Patrick’s smash cake, birthday cake, and cupcakes myself!
There is ZEBRA cake inside!
Be sure to check out my blog post on how I created this smash cake!
Chalking It Up Boards designed this GREAT chalkboard design to capture everything Patrick when he turned 1! It is now hanging in his playroom!
We ordered Patrick’s fun birthday outfit from Better Than Bows, and loved it! It turned out great in our photo session with Brittany Gidley Photography on Patrick’s birthday!
