Dave and I have been to Cleveland’s location of Dave & Buster’s several times for date nights, but we had never brought Patrick before. As adults, we always had a blast with the food, drinks and games, but would we have the same level of fun when we went with our 2 year-old? What kinds of things could a toddler do there? We had a great time finding out!

We were excited to start our afternoon of fun at Dave & Buster’s! We started off our trip with lunch. You can enjoy your food anywhere in the D&B facility, but we chose to begin in the actual restaurant. It is much easier when Patrick is contained in a high chair!
I was amazed by their kid’s menu! They had a wide variety of options for kids, from healthy options like salad or grilled chicken to kid favorites like goldfingers or macaroni & cheese. Patrick enjoyed the mozzarella sticks we ordered as an appetizer, and loved his grilled cheese! The food was definitely toddler friendly, and a hit with Patrick!
After we finished eating, it was time to head to the game room! Patrick was in awe as soon as we entered. All of the people, music, flashing lights…he was on sensory overload! We planned our trip early on a Saturday so it wouldn’t be too crowded, and we were able to let him run around and explore.
Patrick is super into cars and pretending to drive right now, so he was in heaven with all of the driving games! These were definitely his favorite games in the room.
As an educator, I am always looking for opportunities for learning everywhere we go. There were plenty of chances to engage in learning while at Dave & Buster’s! At the Wheel of Fortune game, we were able to talk about colors, numbers, and letters while he helped us play. Patrick loved watching the horses in the racing game. We have been working on fine motor skills with money and his bank at home lately, and he enjoyed putting that to use in a game that Mommy and Daddy really enjoyed too (OK, it was a blackjack video game, but he had a lot of fun putting the coins in!).
Overall, Patrick just had lots of fun! I never would have thought of Dave & Buster’s as a place to go with our toddler, but it turned out to be the perfect place with fun for him and us!
