Our Family Getaway at Castaway Bay {Review & Giveaway}

Life has been a little crazy lately. Between doctors appointments, school, work, and the gray skies that seem to last in Cleveland forever during the winter, we were ready for a family getaway! We had the chance to visit Castaway Bay at Cedar Point this past weekend for a day of family fun! It was our first family trip in months, and we were definitely looking forward to it!

**This post was sponsored by Castaway Bay. We received a complimentary overnight stay and passes for the waterpark at Castaway Bay, as well as 4 day passes to the waterpark to sponsor the giveaway. All opinions are my own.**

We’ve Arrived!

Castaway Bay is located in Sandusky, just minutes from Cedar Point. For us, that was just over an hour drive, which makes it the perfect distance for an overnight getaway. When we arrived, we were excited to see our room! The colors were vibrant, and very welcoming on a cold Ohio day! Our suite had a king sized bed, plus a room for the kids with 2 sets of bunk beds. The kids loved the bunk beds and having their own TV in their room. We also had a great view of the water and the resort out of our balcony. I wish it was warmer outside so we could have sat outside and enjoyed the view!

The Waterpark

After we got settled, we headed straight to the waterpark! We could hardly keep up with the boys they were so excited!

The waterpark has a tropical Caribbean theme, and is always a warm 82°, which was extra nice since it was in the low 20’s outside. The park has a wide variety of attractions for all ages.

Having kids ages 5 and under, we spend our time in the Lookout Lagoon Family Funhouse, Toddler’s Tide Pool, and Castaway Bay Wave Pool. The water was warm, and it wasn’t too crowded!

Good Eats

Since our last visit to Castaway Bay, they have added Quaker Steak & Lube to the resort. This is a great addition! We enjoyed dinner there after a busy day at the park. They have a great kid’s menu, and a wide variety on their regular menu. They are known for their wings, which include a wide range of sauces.

Much needed after a day at the waterpark with 2 boys! #castawaybay #quakersteakandlube #momofboys

Ready to Relax

After a fun-filled day, the boys were ready to relax in their bunk beds and take in a movie. Dave and I were ready to do the same!

The next morning, we were able to pick up some breakfast sandwiches, donuts, and coffee at Ebb & Eddy’s before doing it all over again!

    We will be going on a roadtrip this summer, that is the best and cheapest way for us to travel with the whole family now. We’ll be going to Chicago and I’m excited to see the place. 😊

    2 or 3 years ago my MIL took us on a trip to florida. We didnt do anything except lounge in our vacation home but it was perfect. She passed away last summer and next month we are going back to Florida to honor her and I can’t wait. I think they will tie as my favorite trips for bittersweet reasons ❤❤
