I was so excited to be selected to host a Cars Themed Preschool #DisneySide @Home Celebrations Party! I absolutely love throwing parties, so I was excited to put together this fun event for Patrick and some of his friends.
**I received free products in order to host the Disney Side @Home Celebration. The opinions expressed here are my own.**
This is my first year hosting a #DisneySide party, so I had no idea what to expect. When our box arrived, I was totally AMAZED at everything in it!
I designed these fun invitations to share with my guests! I was excited to spread the word and invite our friends to come show their #DisneySide with us! Click the image below to get a FREE printable for your own use!
I may be alone in this, but I love prepping for and hosting parties! I am a self-proclaimed “Pinterest Mom”, but don’t do over-the-top parties because I feel pressured to or like I should, but instead because I truly enjoy it! For this party, I had the chance to get creative around a theme I had never thought of before…Disney Cars!
In our #DisneySide @Home Celebrations box, we received a box of Tie-Dye cake mix from Duff’s Cakemix. I had used this mix before to make Patrick’s smash cake and cupcakes for his 1st birthday, and I was excited to use it again! They always turn out so great!
Our box also included a Mickey Mouse cake pan. I knew I was already using the cake mix to bake cupcakes, so I used the cake pan to make a Rice Krispie Treat Mickey Mouse! It was totally surprised by how easy it was to make! I used regular Rice Krispies for the face and Cocoa Krispies for the ears and nose. I then created Mickey’s face using Wilton Sparkle Gel Icing. I was pretty impressed with how it came out!
I tried to get creative with the decorations. I used checkered duct tape from Duck Tape and some Disney Cars stickers to decorate mini-water bottles. I turned black gift bags and table cloths into roads using yellow masking tape. I found images of the Disney Cars characters online that I could print and frame to put out to keep with the theme.
Since I received Photoshop Elements for Christmas from Dave, I decided to give some graphic design a try! I created these Cars #DisneySide Pennant Banners that I used to decorate our gift bag table. Click the image below for a FREE printable to use for yourself!
With our food table, I created some stations that tied into Disney Cars characters. I featured chocolate donuts at Luigis Casa Della Tires, punch and water at Fillmore’s Organic Fuel, and our Taco Bar at Flo’s V8 Cafe!
Our treats table featured our tie-dye cupcakes, stoplight brownies, and Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie treat.
Flo’s V8 Cafe was serving a Taco Bar at the party! This is an easy and inexpensive way to feed a large group of people. The Taco Bar chips and salsa, siesta corn, Spanish rice as well as tacos and toppings. For the tacos, we had beef tacos made with Beyond Beef (one of our party sponsors), shredded chicken tacos, and black bean tacos.
Everyone enjoyed the food! By the end of the party, there wasn’t much left!

The game winners got to choose from our table of prizes! By the end of the party, everyone had a chance to pick from the table at least twice! Most importantly, the kids had so much fun playing together! Ages ranges from 1 to 7, and everyone had a great time!
After our Cars #DisneySide party wound down, @ludwigjackie enjoyed some of the #Twinings tea from the parent goody bags! A photo posted by Kristen Kelly (@readysetparenthood) on
We had such a blast! How do you show your #DisneySide?
