What I Learned After “Roeing” for 100 Days

So before I begin, I should probably explain what “Roeing” means. Have you heard of LuLaRoe? If you had asked me that question a year ago, I would have had no idea what you were talking about. LuLaRoe is a clothing company the designs womens, mens, and childrens clothing. The clothing is sold through Independent Retailers through pop-up boutiques, either in-person or online. The term “Roeing” means to be wearing LuLaRoe clothing. After gradually gaining interest in LuLaRoe’s clothing after purchasing my first pair of black leggings in September, I decided to try something out. Starting January 1st, I decided I would wear at least 1 piece of LuLaRoe clothing everyday. It might be leggings, a top, a skirt, a cardigan…what it was didn’t matter. I would make it a point to wear at least 1 piece of clothing from LuLaRoe each day. I am now 100 days into this, and I have learned a few things that have made a huge impact in my life.

**Disclaimer: I am not currently a LuLaRoe Independent Retailer at the time of this post, but I am in the queue to become one! When I started this journey, I had no intentions of joining the business. After I was about halfway through…well, read on to find out why! There are links to my Facebook group and Thirty-One site in this post.**

So starting January 1st, I decided to start Roeing. I Roed by wearing leggings…

I Roed with my kids…

I Roed through injury…

through holidays…

during date nights…

and with my favorite Thirty-One products!

I played around with pattern mixing…

and played around with some of the styles…

What I started to notice after a few weeks was that I was feeling good. For the first time that I can remember, I felt good about the way I looked. For once, I actually enjoyed shopping for clothes, and putting together outfits. For someone that has struggled with self-esteem since middle school, and with weight gain since college, this was quite a shift in my mindset. My husband noticed. Dave encouraged me to slowly transition my wardrobe over to being almost entirely LuLaRoe. He noticed a chance in my confidence as well, and loved seeing me feel that way. He also was constantly commenting on how good I looked in my clothing, which helped as well! Suddenly, I didn’t mind being photographed, or posting pictures of myself online. It felt good to be me for the first time in a long time!

I also learned how COMFORTABLE I could be all day long! (Which is why I used #comfymom #happymom in a lot of my Instagram posts!)

This graphic pretty much describes it!

So 100 days later, I am feeling great!

During the past 100 days, I also learned a lot about the LuLaRoe company. I learned how it started with Deanne Stidham, who started by designing and selling Maxi skirts to support her family. I learned about the values of the company, and the focus on family. The name of the company, LuLaRoe, comes from Deanne’s first three grandchildren: Lucy, Lola, and Monroe. The styles are all names after Deanne’s family members, or individuals who have been with the company since the beginning. The LuLaRoe Retailers that I had been a customer of spoke of the financial freedom the company had provided them. The company also actively participates in fundraisers and help Retailers support causes they deem important. After spending several months researching about the company, I decided to make the jump to enter the queue to become an Independent Retailer with LuLaRoe myself!

I am excited to begin this journey, and am taking care of my final preparation before I get “the call”. I am excited to venture into financial freedom for my family. I am excited to get first dibs at the amazing patterns and styles! More than anything, I am excited to help women feel the way that I have felt in the past 100 days. I am looking forward to helping other women find the styles that help them feel good about themselves! We all deserve that!
