Santa in July Box Swap Reveal

This summer, my fabulous SITS Blogging Tribe decided to do a Christmas in July local box swap! We all had a Secret Santa who sent us a box of goodies from their area. On top of having fun and getting a box, we got to learn about the area where another blogger lives!

Santa in July Box Swap Reveal

My Secret Santa was Lowanda from Sunshine and Elephants! She is a fun blogger out of Charleston, South Carolina! She send me a box full of Low Country love!

So what was inside the box? There were some magazines from the area so I could get a snapshot of what life is like in Low Country. What a fun idea!

We got to try some Benne Wafers! These were the perfect combination of sweet, salty and nutty! A yummy treat that we all enjoyed!

Another items in the box was a beautiful Palmetto Rose! This beautiful flower is made from the leaves (frons) of the official state tree of South Caroline, the Palmetto Tree. They are handmade, and no two roses are the same. I was interested to learn the history of these beautiful flowers. The tradition was that southern ladies would give a Palmetto Rose to their true love as they headed off to war to keep them safe. They are a symbol of everlasting love.

The Shrimp and Grits were definitely something you won’t find in Cleveland! I have never had grits, but Dave was excited because he at them all the time while he was doing volunteer work in South Carolina. I will definitely have to read up on how to make them!

Another fun item in the box was raspberry and sweet tea flavored vodka from The Firefly Distillery. I even found some recipes that I am excited to try too!

The last item was such a special touch! She sent us some sand from Kiawah Island in South Carolina! This beautiful, white sand made me totally jealous.

Thanks Lowanda for sharing your area with us!

I send out my own box full of Cleveland love to another blogger in our tribe. To find out who it went to and what was inside, check out our link-up below!

I am so glad you liked everything. I knew what I was getting the minute Mary stated it was a local goodies blog. These are the things that Charleston is known for and I wanted to share them. The beach sand was like the most exciting. I am so glad I wrapped it in the bubble wrap because I see it still came through the jar. I had so much for going around town collecting the items. The roses are sold on the straights of downtown Charleston by the kids who make them. You can watch them work their magic and then present to you for a sale. Yours was made by a 11 or 12 year old boy. Very talented. I love your pictures of the items, you really made them pop. :)
