Getting Your Closet Ready for Fall with Help from Savers

We are well into fall, and the fall-like weather has begun. It is time for me to give in and start prepping my closets for the transition to the new season. Fall is a great time to not only prepare your closet for seasonal clothing, but also to clean out your closets of clothing that your family has outgrown and donate them to a great cause. Easter Seals Northern Ohio has partnered with Savers thrift stores to open eleven new Donation Drop Spots in the greater Cleveland area that provide convenient locations for community members to donate their used goods.

Getting Your Closet Ready for Fall

I was so excited to take a day and clean out our closet! It is so spacious! I guess that means it is time for me to go shopping and fill it with fun fall clothing.

My closet is fall ready

After cleaning out my closet, I put the clothing we wanted to keep in boxes, labeled them and sent them to our basement for storage.

We had a significant amount of clothes that we were ready to get out of our house (for various reasons), that were still in good condition.

Clothes for donation

The Donation Drop Spots from Easter Seals Northern Ohio and Savers thrift stores are the perfect space for us to donate these items. Savers pays Easter Seals Northern Ohio when community members donate their goods to Easter Seals at the Donation Drop Spots, whether the items make it to the sales floor or not.

Savers is also on a mission to create a better world through reuse by inspiring local communities to donate reusable items to local nonprofits instead of throwing them in the trash. Through its commitment to sustainability, Savers has become one of the largest recyclers of used goods in the world, keeping more than 650 million pounds of reusable items from landfills each year.

This year, while you are cleaning out that closet, consider helping Savers in their mission and donating your reusable items.
