It is that time of year that every teacher looks forward to…summertime! After a grueling Cleveland winter and a hectic school year, I am SO ready for this summer! We may be a few weeks out from the official first day of summer, but I am ready to start having some summer fun now!
Oh sweet, sweet summertime! There is so much I want to fit into these 3 short months! Here are some things I am looking forward to this summer!
Hanging out with this cool dude!
I am not teaching summer school this year, and he will only be attending daycare 1 day a week, so we will have lots of time for fun! I have joined a couple of playgroups through Meetup.com, so we have lots of playdates and outings on our calendar already! Excited for lots of trips to the zoo, museums, and local events too!
We already have our first camping trip planned for Father’s Day weekend, and I can’t wait to add a few more to our calendar!
We have a ticket package to the Lake County Captains, a minor league team by us. We love going to Captains games because they are cheap, family friendly, and lots of fun! We are hoping to make it to a few Indians games too!
My husband’s parents have a pool, and we spend a lot of time there over the summer. It is fun to hang out with family and cool off from the summer heat at the same time. I’m excited to see Patrick enjoy the pool this year!
Weddings and Baby Showers
I love joyful occasions, and weddings and baby showers are some of the most joyful there are! We already kicked off wedding season with my sister’s wedding in May, and have 2 more coming up. One of my best friend’s is expecting, and I can’t wait to help out planning her baby shower!
Through the Meetup.com site, I also started a book club for moms. Our first title is the new Honest Toddler book, and I am super excited to finally READ a book and get to talk to other moms about it!
Mini-vacays and Road Trips
We are going to Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky, Ohio with my sister, brother-in-law and nephew in July. It is going to be so much for to play at the water park with our boys…and the kids too! We always take a few trips down to visit my family in Dayton, and will probably make a couple other road trips before summer is over too.
This summer, on top of family fun, I plan on working on my blog. I hope to be posting more often, and improving it for all of my readers. I want to improve as a blogger and become more efficient so that when the school year starts I am able to keep up with it more!
Bloggy Conference 2014
To help with my blogging goals, I am attending Bloggy Con this year! This event is hosted by Bloggy Moms at Cedar Point this year. I am excited to go and soak in lots of new knowledge about blogging, as well as connect with other bloggers!
